Conference Programme

Dear PV and Energy professional,
 
I am delighted to share the full scientific programme of the 8th World Conference on Photovoltaic Energy Conversion, to be hosted in Milan in the week of 26-30 September 2022. Our exciting programme is arranged in 5 themes, covering topics ranging from silicon cells, evolving and emerging technologies and tandems; modules; to PV systems engineering and applications. Finally, the energy transition topic covers the wide range of multidisciplinary efforts required to ensure the rapid deployment of PV technologies on a massive and global scale as a key element of the ecological transition.  This year PV passes a major milestone of 1 TW of installed capacity worldwide, and I see this event as an opportunity to celebrate this achievement and to continue our work to accelerate towards the next major milestone of annual TW deployments by the end of the decade.

The large number of presentations throughout the week will be of interest to anyone working in the fields of photovoltaics and the energy transition. Five dedicated plenary sessions cover the full range of conference topics, and are targeted to provide an in-depth overview, also accessible to the non-specialist. These will provide you with the information you need to understand the present and future direction of PV, acknowledged as having a crucial role in the future sustainable integrated energy system.
 
Oral and Visual sessions are grouped by topic and theme easily located and tracked in our programme outline and full conference programme. WCPEC-8 offers a unique opportunity to present your work and learn more about your own area of specialization, make new contacts and expand your network, as well as to follow developments, and meet professionals in other fields of expertise
 
This truly global event is jointly organised by the three principal regional photovoltaic conferences, the European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference (39th EU PVSEC), the Photovoltaic Specialists Conference (IEEE PVSC-51) and the International PV Science and Engineering Conference (PVSEC-32). It is especially timely that this major global event will be held physically after two challenging years, and I look forward to meeting you all in person in Milan this September.
